The primary safety recall affecting manual-transmission 2024 Ford Mustang models is recall 24S36, which addresses an improperly secured clutch pressure line barrel nut that can melt against exhaust components, causing hydraulic fluid leaks and potential power loss. In addition, a separate wiper motor recall covers 2024 through 2026 models for potential visibility loss in freezing weather. Both safety repairs are performed at no cost to owners by factory-certified technicians using genuine parts. Safety bulletins from automotive manufacturers exist to ensure that every vehicle on the road continues to meet strict performance and occupant protection standards. When an engineering update or assembly adjustment is identified post-production, factory safety notices provide a direct pathway for drivers to have critical components inspected and updated. Evaluated under stringent crash-test standards, the 2024 Ford Mustang earned a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA and secured an IIHS Top Safety Pick award when properly equipped with advanced front crash prevention and specific LED headlights. Maintaining those high safety standards means staying informed about any active service bulletins. While performance vehicles like the Mustang are engineered for responsive handling and robust power output, minor assembly variations can affect system longevity if left unaddressed. Safety recall 24S36 specifically targets the clutch hydraulic pressure line in 2024 Ford Mustang models fitted with manual gearboxes, addressing a potential clearance issue near high-temperature engine components. During assembly, the barrel nut securing the clutch pressure line may have been improperly torqued or omitted, allowing the hydraulic line to sag toward the catalytic converter and exhaust manifold. Because exhaust manifolds reach extreme operating temperatures under normal driving conditions, proximity to unprotected hydraulic lines poses a distinct thermal risk. Continuous exposure to elevated radiant heat can melt the clutch line tubing, leading to hydraulic fluid weeping or sudden pressure loss within the system. Manual performance cars utilize hydraulic pressure to disengage the clutch pressure plate when the driver depresses the pedal. When hydraulic fluid escapes from a damaged line, pedal pressure drops, making it difficult or impossible to shift gears smoothly. Furthermore, because manual performance setups often share a fluid reservoir between the clutch master cylinder and the main brake master cylinder, a severe fluid leak in the clutch line can eventually illuminate the low brake fluid indicator on the digital instrument cluster. To ensure complete convenience for local owners needing service updates, our Ford Mobile Service program brings certified technicians right to your driveway for qualified maintenance and preliminary safety inspections. Which 2024 Mustang Models and Trims Are Included in the Manual Transmission Recall? The clutch pressure line recall applies exclusively to 2024 Ford Mustang vehicles configured with a six-speed manual transmission, specifically affecting select GT and Dark Horse trim levels. Models equipped with 10-speed automatic transmissions, as well as all four-cylinder EcoBoost variants, are completely exempt from recall 24S36 because they feature entirely different transmission cooling lines and shift control mechanisms. Engineering specifications differ across the manual V8 lineup, but both primary performance trims share the underlying hydraulic clutch routing architecture that requires inspection: GT: Powered by the naturally aspirated 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine paired with a Getrag manual gearbox, utilizing a hydraulic clutch actuation system routed through the engine bay. Dark Horse: Track-focused variant engineered with 500 horsepower from an upgraded 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine and a Tremec manual transmission, using heavy-duty hydraulic lines positioned near high-output exhaust headers. Approximately 8,161 model-year 2024 left-hand-drive Mustang vehicles built within specific production dates fall under this safety campaign notice. Operating a high-output V8 along hilly terrain, such as the riverfront bluffs near East Liverpool, requires precise clutch engagement; having this line inspected ensures seamless shifting performance across steep inclines and stop-and-go traffic alike. How Can 2024 Ford Mustang Owners Check If Their Vehicle Is Recalled? Vehicle owners can check for active safety recalls by retrieving their 17-character Vehicle Identification Number and entering it into the official Ford online recall lookup tool or the NHTSA national database. The 17-digit VIN is uniquely assigned to your specific chassis and provides an instant record of completed service work alongside outstanding factory campaigns. Locating your vehicle's VIN takes only a few seconds using standard vehicle access points: Look through the lower driver-side corner of the windshield glass from outside the vehicle to read the metal dashboard plate. Check the official state vehicle registration card or current auto insurance policy declaration pages. Read the safety certification label attached to the driver-side door pillar jamb. Mustang owners checking their VIN often ask whether a prior routine service visit automatically cleared outstanding recall notices, which is why verifying the 17-character code directly against the factory database provides immediate clarity. For daily commuters traveling along State Route 170 in Calcutta, verifying your VIN online takes the guesswork out of maintenance planning before scheduling your next seasonal checkup. What Is the Fix for the 2024 Mustang Recall and What Does the Dealer Do During Repair? The authorized remedy for recall 24S36 involves a comprehensive inspection of the clutch hydraulic circuit, the installation of a securing retention fastener on the barrel nut assembly, and the complete replacement of any heat-affected fluid lines. All diagnostic checks, replacement parts, and fluid flushes associated with safety recalls are provided at zero cost to the vehicle owner. During the repair appointment, factory-trained technicians execute a structured multi-step process: Underbody Inspection: Technicians elevate the vehicle on a hoist to carefully examine the clearance between the clutch pressure line, barrel nut, and adjacent exhaust heat shields. Hardware Securing: If the line is undamaged, technicians install a specialized retention clip and properly secure the barrel nut to lock the hydraulic line into its correct position, permanently away from hot exhaust surfaces. Line Replacement: If inspection reveals any thermal degradation, cracking, or fluid weeping, the old line is removed and replaced with a new factory-spec assembly. Hydraulic Bleeding & Testing: Technicians refill the hydraulic reservoir, thoroughly bleed air from the clutch hydraulic circuit, verify firm pedal response, and perform a road test to confirm proper shifting operation. Our facility maintains a complete stock of genuine OEM Ford replacement parts to ensure that recall repairs and routine maintenance are completed quickly with factory-exact components. Common Questions About 2024 Ford Mustang Recalls and Repairs Q: Is there any cost to owners for completing the clutch pressure line recall repair? All recall repairs, including labor and factory replacement components for recall 24S36, are covered entirely by Ford Motor Company. Owners pay nothing out of pocket when bringing an affected vehicle to an authorized service center for open safety recall work. Q: Can driving with an unaddressed clutch pressure line recall damage my transmission? Continuing to operate a vehicle with a compromised clutch line can lead to sudden hydraulic pressure loss, preventing complete clutch disengagement during gear shifts. Forcing gears without full clutch release places excessive mechanical strain on transmission synchros and internal gears, which can cause internal wear over time. Q: Does the 2024 Ford Mustang manual transmission recall affect brake pedal feel? While the clutch and brake systems on manual performance cars share a fluid supply reservoir, recall 24S36 specifically involves fluid loss from the clutch actuation circuit. Severe fluid loss across the shared reservoir can eventually trigger a low brake fluid warning, making immediate repair vital to preserving overall hydraulic safety systems. Q: How long does a typical recall inspection and repair take at the service department? A standard inspection and hardware installation for the clutch line recall generally takes an estimated one to two hours to complete. If technicians discover thermal damage requiring line replacement and full fluid bleeding, additional shop time may be required to complete factory quality standards. Q: How does cold weather impact the separate 2024 Mustang wiper motor recall? The separate windshield wiper recall announced for 2024 through 2026 Mustang models involves wiper gear mechanisms that can fail under freezing temperatures or snow load. Replacing the affected wiper motor assembly prevents sudden visibility loss during harsh winter driving conditions.
